Kalpana Patel – CEO/President

Kalpana Patel is President and Chief Executive officer of Unique Comp. Inc. Kalpana holds an MBA degree from Adelphi University, Garden city, New York. Over the course of two decades of working in Wall Street and the Information Technology Industry, Kalpana has “hands on” experience in virtually every aspect of the business, including sales, marketing, financé and operations. Because of her extensive background working for large corporate firms such as Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and MHT, she has carried over the same sound business principals and corporate savvy to her own company. She managed to build her organization in to one of the most successful “Minority Woman Owned Small businesses” in the Tri-state area, providing Technology Solutions and consulting to an impressive number of agencies within the public sector as well as several corporate 100 companies. Because of her dedication and hard work and strong leadership, in 2005 Kalpana Patel proudly received Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s “NYC Small Business Award of Distinction” as well as being named one of “Top Owned 50 Asian Minority Businesses” in New York and has been distinguished as one of the top entrepreneurs in the country by DiversityBusiness.com. From the very beginning, Kalpana’s first priority has always been commitment to her clients and by strongly believing in achieving “Excellence Through Teamwork”, her companies maxim. In year 2006, Kalpana has received National Replubican Congression Award from - President Bush "Entrepreneur of the Year", World Business Forum Inc's "Woman Entrepreneur of the Year" and NAWBO "Top Woman Business Owner of the Year".


Gary Rado – Chief Technology Officer
Gary Rado is UCI’s Chief Technology Officer, a position that has proven to be strategically critical to the organization. As an accomplished senior level Information Technology Contributor with over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, Gary provides strong leadership and has delivered innovative solutions to some of the largest Wall Street firms, globally. His job profile include companies such as; JP Morgan Chase, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, The Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank and Mizuho Corporate Bank. He brings to UCI, seasoned strategic planning experience with an impeccable track record for getting the job done. He selects and manages all products, services and IT solutions that UCI offers as part of its core model as well as designing our roadmap that provides vision and direction for product and client development that contains specific recommendations addressing current, near-term, mid-term and long-term strategies and proposed actions for continued growth. It is his strategic planning and industry experience that drives the organizations enhanced business performance. He believes as IT organizations transition their value contribution towards business processes, information and relationships, the opportunity exists to refocus on the design and management of the business process and client relationships. His theory is that IT organizations such as UCI, need to be more focused on the capabilities to drive business value for the customer rather than on short-term technology needs. As a leader in this industry our firm must “Work Smart” for the client and the way we do this is by keeping up with change, exploring emerging technologies and giving our clients solutions that align with their business needs.


Gautam Tooley- Vice President – Government Solutions
Gautam Tooley brings over 15 years of progressive experience in program management, customer relationship management and managing software implementations. His governmental business and information technology expertise comes from operational and managerial experience with state, county, and local governments, as well as his experience in the fields of telecommunications, retail, human services and technical outsourcing. Mr. Tooley has applicable experience in strategic planning, requirements analysis, project management, change management system deployment, and software support. He is also responsible for the day to day management of business operations including charting the future growth and developing the strategic teaming partnerships. He joined UCI in 1999 and has successfully managed key engagements including Administration of Children Services, Long Island Power Authority, Off Track Betting Corporation, US Department of Housing and Urban Development, KPMG, New York Power Authority and County of Rockland. Prior to joining UCI, he was responsible for business processes management at Reckitt Benkiser, AT&T and Alcatel where he contributed and participated in a dozen high-level product rollouts. Mr. Tooley has an MBA in Information Systems and Bachelors in Commerce from University of Delhi.


Paul Portacio - Chief Operations Officer
Paul Portacio brings over 20 years of Operations experience to the company. Mr. Portacio joined the UCI team in 2004 as Chief Operations Officer and subsequently served as the Senior Vice President of global operations for Marsh & McLennan for over 8 years. He has a distinguished list of fortune 100 companies that he has worked for such as Guy Carpenter, CIBC Oppenheimer and Bank of Brazil. He brings to our organization a “take charge” attitude which helps UCI meet its objectives and performance goals.Under UCI’s new organization structure, Mr. Portacio plays a critical role. The position is unique in many respects - it not only entails running the day-to-day business operations of UCI he plays the advisory role for many of our clientele as it relates to improving their IT operations and applying best business practices. In functional respects, as COO he assumes the same responsibilities as in any other business: He is a vital member of the CEO's core staff, working with the CEO and CTO to develop and implement UCI’s long-term business strategy. As COO, Paul interacts extensively with our clients to provide leadership and direction for all business activities related to their IT operations. He works with the CTO to advise the CEO on strategic business development and key corporate planning issues and makes recommendations on major business decisions.


Meeta Walia – Human Resources Officer
Meeta Walia is a seasoned professional with over 8 years of Human Resource experience. She serves as a link between management and UCI employees. Providing specialized services to staff members, Mrs. Walia’s role is to foster positive relationships, to increase job satisfaction, and to make sure all customer needs are met. Specific responsibilities include: administration, recruitment, company compensation and benefits, training and development, health and safety, community services and employee relations. She works with the UCI management team in the planning of company goals and assists in recognizing and evaluating industry trends as it relates to recruiting and staffing. She is responsible for attracting qualified employees and matching them to jobs internally and externally and performs the screening, interviewing and testing of applicants.
